Made on the Needles

Knit Scallop Scarf

This scarf was my first major knitted thing. It was made using a scallop pattern on a variegated faux-mohair (read: non-itchy + non-expensive) yarn. The results were mixed. It should have been longer, but I ran out of yarn, time and patience. And when I tried to do some shaping on this mostly acrylic scarf, the fuzziness was severely compromised. That said, it's not embarassingly bad, and pretty good for the first go-around

My Peacock Scarf

This was the first thing I knit after moving back to NYC and gaining access to better yarn shops. The yarn is an eyelash/felted wool combo, and stays soft and fluffy even after going through snow and rain.

The Blue Knit Hat

This blue hat was a gift for my Baby (21-year-old) Brother. Made from another fairly cheap mohair-ish yarn, this hat turned out pretty well. I knit the hat in 2x2 rib as one flat piece, then seamed it up the back. It's a little on the small side (my brother tendds to have big hair), but otherwise a good fit.

My first scarf

This purple scarf was my first successfully finished crochet project. It's made from Lion Brand Homespun yarn, and always gets compliments. It really pulled itself thin and long, and subsequently doesn't act as a very warm scarf anymore.
