Thanks, everyone, for your kind wishes and love. You are so right; I have been lazy with the postings. To be honest, this has been a pretty leisurely time...Sure, we have to wake up and feed the baby every couple hours (or, as she's preferred the last day or so, every 45 minutes), and we change alot of diapers. We wrap her tightly in the blanket, put her in the bassinet next to the sensor that plays "sounds from the womb", then we take her out to feed and change again. Just when we finally drift off to sleep, she's ready to go through the routine again. But other than that, there's not much we've had to do. Babies sleep alot at first, so it's far from frantic. Bear was home all of last week, and Mom's been here this week, so I haven't had to step outside much at all, even to pick up Diet Coke. Which is not to say I couldn't (I'm pretty much recovered from the c-section at this point), but it's been nice to have no obligations other than Baby.

Emma opens her eyes now. She doesn't necessarily prefer it (did I mention that babies sleep a lot at first?), but she does open them. Other interests include sucking on her hands, smiling as she silently makes gas, and growing very quickly. Also, she has memorized her multiplication tables, written a memoir chronicling her first two weeks of life, and is developing a killer tennis backhand. (Okay, some of that was exaggerated. Trust me when I say that eye-opening makes Momma plenty proud for now.)

I'll try to keep up with posting more pictures. We have (literally) hundreds, but they're a little repetetive, being mostly of a sleeping baby. Once she actually grows into any of her clothes, there will surely be more variety - and costume changes.
