So this is what One Week looks like.
This whole experience/experiment (from baby-makin' to baby-havin' to baby-raisin') has been an amazing and blessed journey. 9-hours in the waiting room last week was no doubt easier than 9-hours in labor would have been; I didn't much care for the crazy-ouchie-legged epidural feeling, but that too was more than bearable, since it allowed an actual human to be removed from inside my body. My first glimpse (through a flood of overjoyed tears) of our daughter was on a table to my right, being attended to by her father (attended to = being cleaned up by a nurse while Daddy snapped dozens of pictures). From that moment, and in every moment since then, I can honestly say that life has been more full, more wondrous, more amazing.

[p.s.: mom's been posting more from the rapidly growing BabyBumble Photographic Portfolio over at Sonnystone]
Posted by rightmoon at January 31, 2006 07:59 PMIt's the most amazing thing, isn't it....that (rather) sudden, life-changing transition that happens the moment they actually are outside you...when you have them in your arms, smell their soft little head, and feel their hand close around your finger. Seeing the photos of your new little wonder takes me back to that incredible feeling when my own son, and then daughter were born. You feel life is more amazing because it IS - because of her. It's a whole new level of living. Welcome to motherhood, Melissa.
Posted by: an avid reader at February 1, 2006 01:28 AMShe's gorgeous and I'm speechless. I did want to write, though, to welcome you back home and tell you how overjoyed I am for you both. She's a lucky little girl. She's got two wonderful parents who will be her best friends.
Love ya
