Where the Wild Things Are...the movie!?! This is one of my very favorite books, so I'm cautiously excited. I have to admit I like the idea of Spike Jonze directing (and a screenplay co-written by Jonze and October's-Daddy-Dave Eggers), and I am comforted by Sendak's scorn of the Cat In The Hat movie.
Posted by rightmoon at October 24, 2005 07:05 PMi, too, feel heartened by mr. sendak's refusal to "sell his book". i was intrigued by his mention that many people think that wild things is all he ever did--they're missing a lot! i'm sure you remember that it was our friend fred who gave you your copy of wild and introduced us both to the wonderful maurice and max...another plus for reading to your children..and having wild friends.
